Russkaya tsvetnaya bolonka  &  Bolognese

Both breeds belong to IX group - social breeds, section 1 - bishons and related breeds. While the ancestors of bolognese dog are already mentioned in the ancient Rome period, the breed Russian coloured bolognese came into being relatively recently, namely in 1950s in St. Petersburg. More information about the rise of the individual breeds can be found on our websites in the section "history of the breeds".
Both breeds have much in common - not only similar appearance, hair arrangement and their size but especially their very kind and affectionate character, they are undemanding and docile. The bolognese dog as well as Russian coloured bolognese are breeds with very strong relation to people, suitable for canistherapy, for children and they are also good companions for older people.
